1. Use the Amazon Best Sellers Page

This may seem a little obvious, but one of the best ways to find best sellers is to simply go to Amazon’s Best Sellers page and see which products have the top sales rank at the moment. In addition to the USA, there are best seller lists for all international marketplaces, including the UK, Canada, Spain, and Germany.

You’ll be able to see which items are selling the most across the entire site. You can also click on individual categories to view the most popular products for each one.

If you’re looking to quickly find high-selling items then this is definitely a great way to start your product research. Identify products you like and track down suppliers that will provide you with those same products, or come up with new variations on top-selling products to gain an edge on the competition.

Either approach could work well, however, there are a few things you should be aware of when using this strategy:

  • All of these products are very competitive: Everyone has access to the best sellers page and can see all of these products. That means there are likely hundreds, even thousands of other sellers trying to sell them. This can make it very difficult to succeed with these items, especially for new sellers.

A product might be really popular, but if there are hundreds of other people offering the exact same thing then it’s going to be really difficult for you to capitalize on those sales. 

Say an item has 100 sales a day but there are 100 people selling it. That’s an average of just 1 sale a day per seller. Wouldn’t you rather sell a product that has 50 sales a day with only 5 people selling it? That’s an average of 10 sales a day per seller.

Low competition could also indicate an untapped market. There might be a lot of demand for a product, but the problem is no one’s offering it. If you swoop in and offer a really good version of that item you’re bound to get a ton of sales.

2. High Demand

If you’re going to invest in a product you need to have some proof that there’s actually demand for it. This doesn’t mean it has to be selling massive amounts per day. But you do need to see proof that people are actually buying it on a regular basis.
